Amherst is the first town in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to change Columbus Day into Indigenous People’s Day.  In honor of this recognition, our service this morning will lift-up the theme of spiritual and natural duality that was at the heart of our New England predecessors’ belief systems.  Today will be a multi-generational service.  There will be some drumming, some dancing, some singing, and some time during coffee hour to sign postcards opposing the pipeline in the Dakotas that is proposed to go thru tribal lands!  Childcare will be provided for infants and toddlers.
