Vespers for Peace

Circle ’round for freedom. Circle ’round for peace. Please join me for a special Wednesday evening, August 14th at 7 PM vespers service. My heart is broken in this moment over the repeated mass shootings in our country, and I am humbled to reflect that only the most horrific violence makes the national news. Maybe you are living as I am with the deep compound grief of our violent culture.

We don’t need to hold this moment alone, and we must not give up on a world in which all people live in safety, dignity, and love. Please join me to acknowledge our grief, share our hopes, and move toward action. We can be peacemakers.

From August 11 to August 18, people of faith throughout this country will participate in Peacemaker Sabbath services for messages of hope, healing, and peace. We will pray and prepare to take action against gun violence and white extremism.
